To be an effective leader who can influence others to get things done, it is crucial to build effective relationships, as well as understand, build, and wield power. The Schwarzman Scholars program focuses on these two core areas:

- Building interpersonal skills

- Managing power effectively

Studies have shown that “Emotional intelligence accounts for nearly 90 percent of what sets high performers apart from peers with similar technical skills and knowledge.” Students will develop the strong interpersonal skills they need to build meaningful relationships, shape their teams and organizations, and sharpen their power skills.
